Tooth Doctor

A private dental group with three practices across Essex and Thurrock: Basildon, Brentwood and Stanford-le-Hope. With 11,500+ patients and a 4.8 Google rating, they needed a full digital platform to match their ambition.

The challenge

Tooth Doctor isn't a single practice. It's a growing dental group with three locations, a broad range of treatments, several teams and thousands of patients. Building a website for an operation this size means solving for scale.

How do you make something comprehensive enough to serve all of that, while keeping it approachable enough that a nervous patient doesn't feel overwhelmed the moment they land on it?

The challenge, scale without complexity: three locations under one brand, 15+ treatments, and booking, team pages, testimonials and a blog to manage

My role

Web design and build

I designed and built the complete multi-location website from scratch: home page, location pages, treatment pages, team profiles and all the supporting content, creating a consistent, professional experience across the whole site.

Location landing pages

Each of the three practices got its own landing page, structured to rank in local search and give each location a distinct presence within the wider Tooth Doctor brand.

Content

I wrote blog articles for the site under my own name, on topics including teeth whitening and dental bridges, adding to the site's organic search performance.

Site structure: the Tooth Doctor home page leads to three locations, 15+ treatments, team and testimonials, and the blog, all pointing to online booking

Design strategy

The biggest design challenge was making a large, information-dense site feel accessible rather than overwhelming. Dental anxiety is real, and the last thing a nervous patient needs is a site that's hard to navigate or feels cold.

I structured the experience around three kinds of visitor: those ready to book, those comparing treatments, and those still doing their research. Each treatment page follows the same format: what it is, what to expect, and a clear next step.

  • A warm, approachable tone throughout, designed to reduce anxiety, not add to it.
  • A consistent treatment page structure that makes comparing options easy.
  • Multi-location architecture that gives each practice its own identity within one brand.

Built for a growing group

A comprehensive platform spanning three locations, 15+ treatments and several teams, structured to grow with the business without needing a rebuild.

Lessons learned

  1. Design for the nervous visitor

Dental anxiety is real. Warm copy, calm layouts and an obvious next step did more for patients than showing everything at once.

  2. Consistency makes comparison easy

Giving every treatment page the same shape (what it is, what to expect, what to do next) lets patients compare options without relearning the page each time.

  3. One brand, many front doors

Separate location pages let each practice rank locally and feel local, while sharing one design system that's easy to grow.
